According to Pantone, metallics are no longer a dramatic color choice. In fact, they're part of the "new neutrals" for 2018, says Eiseman. Whether your choose to inset your ceiling with gold paper, like the room pictured here, or add a few gold accessories throughout your space, apparently gilded is the new white marble. If you’re looking for bold, statement turquoise is this year’s ticket. A combination of blue and green, it will definitely blend well with many shades of each.

Black and White Is a Key Color Palette for 2018
If you live in California, it doesn't mean your palette needs to be nature-inspired or if you're a New Yorker, you have to embrace industrial-inspired shades. In fact, we predict this year is going to be all about going against the grain in terms of color choices. Sure, sometimes it's acceptable to stick with what you love when it comes to home design, regardless of the latest trends. But if your humble abode is a bit tired of fashioning last season's tropical patterns and cliché word art, now's your chance to do some updating.
This will brighten any room of the house and hide imperfections more easily, making them a great choice for families and households with pets. Add some dimension and texture with herringbone-patterned woods to modernize the space and make a subtle statement. Escape from stress in your own home sanctuary, surrounded by the people, objects and colors you love. Bedrooms and bathrooms are private spaces, perfect for colors that sweep you away from the cares of the outside world.

Jewel-toned walls, "Gen Z Yellow" sofas and scattered vibrant accents are all the rage this year. Loecke (who co-wrote Prints Charming with Nixon) notes that one of 2017's trends was "maximalism"—that is, spaces that combine a riot of color and patterns. He sees ultra violet as a tool that can help you embrace this movement, since it complements so many colors, from red, green and yellow, to blue, black and gray.
Open up the room with low, puffy, and plump shaped couches that are angled and designed for increased interaction during social gatherings, while also providing maximum comfort for relaxation or good old Netflix binging. I also love using different colors in my home so I like to hear how other people are combining them. Olympic’s color choice for 2018 is a similar shade of black called Black Magic which has a little less blue in it. All of the PPG brands chose some shade of black as their color of the year, starting with “Black Flame”.
Our interests include green building, organics, sailing, travel and cats. With all the above in mind, gold is clearly a top candidate for one of the trendiest interior colors in 2018. The Sherwin Williams 2018 Color of the Year, Oceanside, is a marine-inspired mix of blue and green that is sure to make waves in the coming year. There's a new minimalist color palette in town, and it doesn't involve grey. And sure, painting an entire room in a vibrant splash of yellow may not be ideal, but something as simple as an accent wall or statement furnishing can go a long way. One of her favorite artists, Melanie Biehle, has plenty of ice cream tone options, like this dreamy Creamsicle Abstract (starting at $23).
If you want to try this trend, but are a little nervous about going for it, read our tips on decorating a black room. To add the same spa feel without the effort of painting the whole room, you could also go with some beautiful bedding. If you want a color with a little more green in it, try “Inchyra Blue” from Farrow & Ball. It is based on the blue doors of the Georgian Inchyra House in Scotland and can take on many personalities depending on the light. For more of a grey-based lavender color, you could try one of Farrow & Ball’s selections for this seasoncalled “Brassica”. As with most of Farrow & Ball’s paints, the color changes in different light…sometimes looking more lavender and sometimes more grey, which is part of what makes their paint so unique.
